Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how MuveMe ("MuveMe," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Contact
Privacy questions and requests: support@muveme.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and as required by law.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Identifiers — name, email address, account identifiers, device or session identifiers
- Relocation and plan details — information you provide in intake or the dashboard (for example origin/destination, timing, preferences, tasks, notes)
- Financial connectivity (optional) — if you choose to connect a financial account through a partner such as Plaid, we receive information according to that integration's permissions and the partner's policies
- User content — photos, documents, or files you upload to features that support them (for example move photos or vault items)
- Internet or network activity — limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP for security and reliability
- Inferences — derived insights used to personalize your plan or product experience (for example prioritization of tasks)
- Service usage and product analytics — how you interact with the Service (for example feature usage, flows completed, coarse timing or navigation patterns) collected in logs or analytics tools we control
- OAuth profile data — if you sign in with a third-party provider (for example Google or GitHub), we may receive your name, email, and profile image as authorized by you and the provider
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service
- Create and maintain your account and relocation plan
- Send service-related and transactional messages (for example magic links or security notices)
- Send optional product communications where permitted and according to your preferences
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and technical issues
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
- Analyze usage in aggregated or de-identified form to improve the product
- Create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized statistics and market or demand insights (for example regional move-intent trends, category demand, or product benchmarks) that do not reasonably identify you
- License or sell such non-identifying insights to business customers, as described in Section 6
4. AI-powered features
Some features use artificial intelligence. When you use those features, relevant information you have provided may be sent to our AI subprocessors (for example Anthropic) to generate responses. We configure these relationships so that personal data is processed to deliver the Service and is handled under appropriate agreements. Unless we tell you otherwise, we do not allow providers to use your personal conversations to train public models.
5. How we share personal information
We do not sell or rent identifiers such as your name, email address, or phone number to third parties for their own marketing lists. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers who assist us (for example hosting on Railway, email delivery, analytics that do not track you as an individual across sites, payment or app-store platforms, AI inference providers)
- Professional advisers when required (for example lawyers or accountants under confidentiality)
- Authorities when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards
Future marketplace or lead products. If we introduce features that share personal or pseudonymous information with service providers (for example matching you with movers) or receive compensation tied to identifiable leads, we will describe those practices here and provide choices (such as consent or opt-out) where required by law before or when those features go live.
6. How Muve makes money — anonymized partner insights
Muve is free for everyone who's moving. We do not charge users — there are no paid plans, no premium tier, and no in-app purchases. Instead, we sustain the Service by sharing aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized relocation insights with commercial partners across the moving lifecycle (for example moving companies, real estate agents, mortgage lenders, utility setup services, home and renter insurance, and moving supplies).
These outputs are built from coarse, combined data such as city or metro, move timeframe windows, service categories selected, and budget bands you choose. We design them so they do not reasonably identify you as an individual: we combine and threshold data, remove or generalize direct identifiers, and apply technical and administrative safeguards intended to reduce re-identification risk.
We do not sell or share your name, email, home address, or any other directly identifying personal information with partners. Where data is not personal information under applicable law, we may use, disclose, license, or sell it without offering individual privacy rights over that dataset. If applicable law treats any activity as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, we will update this policy and provide required notices and opt-out or consent mechanisms before doing so.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process data in the U.S. and other locations where our providers operate. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to the U.S. or other countries that may not provide the same level of protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
8. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period (typically within thirty (30) days), except where law requires longer retention. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained longer.
9. Security
- Data is stored on encrypted infrastructure (for example PostgreSQL hosted on Railway)
- We use TLS encryption for data in transit where applicable
- If you use email and password, credentials are protected with strong one-way hashing; we do not store plaintext passwords. If you use single sign-on, authentication is handled by your provider subject to their policies
- Access controls are designed so users can only access their own account data
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We work to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights (EEA, UK, and similar)
If applicable law provides you rights (including under the GDPR), you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, use in-product controls where available (for example account settings) or contact support@muveme.com.
11. California and other U.S. state privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) may grant you rights regarding personal information. Other U.S. states are adopting similar laws; contact us if you believe you have rights in your state.
Categories collected — We collect the categories described in Section 2 above, which may include identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity, geolocation (approximate, from IP), and inferences.
Business and commercial purposes — We use personal information for the purposes in Sections 3–5, including providing the Service, security, compliance, and internal analytics. We may also create and use aggregated or de-identified outputs as described in Section 6.
Sensitive personal information — We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" link under CPRA, and we do not sell sensitive personal information.
Sale, sharing, and commercial use — We do not sell identifiers (such as name, email, or phone) for third-party marketing lists. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may license or sell aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data that is not personal information under applicable law, as described in Section 6. If we engage in activity that constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under state law (for example certain partner or marketplace features), we will describe it here and provide legally required choices (such as a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link or opt-out process) before or when that activity begins.
You may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to exceptions
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights
To submit a request, email support@muveme.com from the email associated with your account. We may verify your request before responding. You may designate an authorized agent where permitted by law.
Shine the Light — California residents may request certain information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes (if any). We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes as described in that law.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are essential for authentication, session management, and security. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies today. If we introduce non-essential cookies or analytics that require consent in your region, we will update this policy and our consent tools before enabling them.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.
15. Terms of Service
Use of MuveMe is also governed by our Terms of Service.
